About
Sensei Pete Daypuck
4th Dan, Head Instructor
Sensei Pete Daypuck began his karate journey in 1990, training under his father, Sensei Reg Daypuck. This is where he developed discipline, respect, and perseverance, along with a strong foundation and deep appreciation for traditional Japanese karate.
Soon after Sensei Pete earned his black belt, a competitive career across Canada and the United States began as he dominated in kata and weapons, earning him four World Championships through the National Blackbelt League (NBL). His dedication led to qualification for the National JKA Team, where he represented his country at the Japan Karate Association World Championships in Tokyo and Sydney.
After years of competition, Sensei Pete shifted his focus to teaching and mentoring. As head instructor of Daypuck Karate, he brings decades of practical experience, emphasizing strong fundamentals and character development.
For Sensei Pete, karate is more than a sport, it’s a lifelong path of growth, discipline, and leadership which he continues to share with his father, Sensei Reg Daypuck. Today, they proudly continue the Daypuck legacy, helping students learn and grow through resilience - one class at a time.
